Frequently Asked Questions

1. What level of computer knowledge do I need to have to understand the book?

Only a basic understanding of computers and knowledge of how to use a web browser  (such as Internet Explorer or Firefox) is necessary to get the most out of this book.  There is no coding required and there is no special software required.  And if you need clarification about a topic discussed in the book, simply send an email to workbook@shorthillsdesign.com and we will be happy to assist.

2. Why do I need to read this book? What makes The Web Design Workbook for Dentists a ‘must read’?

As time goes on, websites for dentists and other healthcare professionals are not becoming optional — they are becoming a mandatory part of running a successful practice.  It is in this light that I took my years as a practicing general dentist and web developer/SEO consultant and combined this knowledge and experience into this guide.   Because an office website is such an important piece of the puzzle for competing in today’s business climate, it’s critical that you have all the tools at your disposal to make educated and informed decisions about your website.

The book is unique because it is part reference manual and part interactive workbook. With over 100 pages of content, 12 worksheets, online videos and documentation, this book will guide you through the process of developing your website from initial planning all the way through to routine maintenance and backup.  By using the worksheets as you move along in the book, you will immediately be able to apply the concepts you learn directly to your own website!  To see a small sample of what you will learn in this book, visit the Features and Highlights page.

3. I already have a website. Will this book be useful for me?

The concepts presented in the book are relevant whether you are building a new website from scratch or redeveloping an existing site.  Dentists who already have a website in place may not need to focus on the two beginning chapters on domain names and web hosting — though the information about separating domain names and hosting providers may still prove valuable.   But the sections about design pitfalls, Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Marketing and the importance of website analytics are just a few of the litany of topics that are presented that will still be valuable.  To see more of what’s covered in the book please download a copy of the actual Table of Contents and the Introduction to the book.

4. How much does the book cost?

The Web Design Workbook for Dentists is priced at a $279.95 + 8.95 S&H + tax (where applicable), and there are frequent coupons offered (visit our promotions page to see the current available discounts).

If you consider how many thousands of dollars you will invest in having a website built and maintained for your practice, the cost of the book is a small price to pay to make sure that you are getting your money’s worth.

5. What is your return policy?

We offer a 30-day money back guarantee.  If you are not completely satisfied with the book you can return it at any time within 30-days of receipt of the book for a full refund of your purchase price (minus S&H). You will only be required to pay for return shipping and tracking.

6. What if I have a question that isn’t listed here?

Simply send an email to workbook@shorthillsdesign.com with your question and we will be happy to assist you.
